You can make or repair most traditional style lamps with this kit. The electrical parts are U.L. listed and include an 8 foot white cord with polarized plug and a push-thru style, brass-finished socket. (More customer reviews)Does the job. On off switch is a push through. My only real problem with it was that the harp doesn't fit all that well into the holder (it's a bit wobbly) and in general is pretty flimsy. If you're replacing lamp components like I was and your harp setup is sturdy and doesn't wobble and you can fit it, use that rather than the one that comes with the setup. Otherwise, it works and it's relatively inexpensive (at least compared to replacing the lamp, which was my other option).
